Black & White Diamonds phone

Keeping in tune with their lineup of functionally-challenged, uber-extravagant, overly-luxurious, downright tacky mobile phones, Vertu has released another handset slathered in boat-loads of diamonds - the Vertu Signature Black & White Diamonds handset rocks 644 white diamonds and 428 black-flavored diamonds, to be exact. Vertu seems to think that people will pay un-godly sums of money for handsets that don’t even have quad-band GSM radios or even EDGE as long as it’s considered “luxury.” Stupid rich people

World's smallest fish

Scientists have discovered a fish living in forest swamps on the Indonesian island of Sumatra that is only 7.9mm long.
The species of fish belongs to the carp family and is called Paedocypris progenetica . It is the world's smallest vertebrate or backboned animal.

Living in acid
The tiny, see-through Paedocypris fish have the appearance of larvae and have a reduced head skeleton, which leaves the brain unprotected by bone.
They live in dark tea-coloured waters with an acidity of pH3, which is at least 100 times more acidic than rainwater.
'This is one of the strangest fish that I've seen in my whole career', said Ralf Britz, zoologist at the Natural History Museum.
'It's tiny, it lives in acid and it has these bizarre grasping fins. I hope we'll have time to find out more about them before their habitat disappears completely.'

Thumbelina the world's smallest horse

She may be small, a mere 17 inches and weighing only 60 pounds. But she is all horse.Born as a dwarf to a miniature horse, Thumbelina is officially the world’s smallest horse. She may never aspire to be a champion show-jumper – she is so tiny she would find it hard to jump over a bucket. But these things matter little to the feisty Thumbelina, who has been officially recognized as the world’s smallest horse. That title was conferred on her in 2006 when the five-year-old entered the Guinness Book of Records. The real-life My Little Pony was born on an American farm to a couple who specialize in breeding miniature horses.Normally these horses weight about 250lb and rise to a height of 34 inches when they are fully grown. But from the day she was born it was clear that tiny Thumbelina would never grow to that size. She weighed in at only 8lb – the size of a new-born baby - when she was born. Eventually she grew to just 60lb.Her amazing size has been explained as dwarfism. This makes her a miniature of a miniature.

Devin Hester

Devin Hester (born November 4, 1982) is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He is an alumnus of the University of Miami, where he became the first person in the university’s recent history to play on all three teams of American football (offense, defense, special teams).[1] Hester began his professional career with the Bears in 2006, and quickly made an impact as a kick returner. Dubbed the "Windy City Flyer" and "Anytime", Hester holds the league's all-time record for most kicks returned for a touchdown in a season.During his youth, Hester enjoyed following the Dallas Cowboys. He especially idolized Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. He was also a fan of the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson era. Fred Taylor of the University of Florida was Hester's favorite athlete. In addition to football, he also enjoyed playing soccer and following baseball.

Nine top prospects will attend Day 1 of the 2009 NFL Draft

Nine top prospects will attend Day 1 of the 2009 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 25, the league announced Monday. WR Michael Crabtree, LB Aaron Curry, LB Brian Cushing, QB Josh Freeman, T Eugene Monroe, T Michael Oher, DE Brian Orakpo, T Jason Smith and QB Matthew Stafford will be the biggest group of prospects to attend the draft since 11 players attended the 1996 NFL Draft.
Players were first invited to the NFL Draft in 1993 with Drew Bledsoe (1st overall pick), Marvin Jones (4th), Willie Roaf (8th), Jerome Bettis (10th), Dan Williams (11th) and Irv Smith (20th). Of course, Smith’s tumble late into the first round bore the drama of players fidgeting in the “green room” waiting for their name to be called. Maybe that’s why QB Mark Sanchez will not be attending the draft.
Everybody remembers the famous slides of Aaron Rodgers who fell to the Packers at No. 24 in 2005, and Brady Quinn being picked at No. 22 by the Browns in 2007. They have nothing on former running back Leeland McElroy who lasted into the second round (32nd overall) in 1996 before he was mercifully drafted by the Cardinals.

Michael Vick has a new job and is playing football again

Michael Vick has a new job and is playing football again. The money is not quite the same and the records of the players are a bit different, too.
Falcons owner Arthur Blank has been communicating by letter with Vick, who is at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., incarcerated at the facility's minimum security satellite prison camp.
Blank told the Daily News that Vick writes that he is washing pots and pans for 12 cents an hour. He was sentenced to 23 months in December after pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges.
And in a scene straight out of the Longest Yard, Blank says Vick is playing football at Leavenworth. That's one way to pass his time and keep his arm loose. He's likely the first player picked when the inmates are choosing up sides or the guards are choosing up sides for them. Vick's sprinter speed surely comes in handy just in case a dog-loving inmate thinks it's cool to sack an NFL quarterback and break his shoulder. He is staying in shape,” Blank told The News. "Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides.”
That's only fair.
Blank, a Flushing product, says Vick wrote to him first and they've now opened a dialogue by mail. He also says that Kevin Winston, the Falcons' senior director of player development, has visited Vick several times in prison. Blank says he has no plans to visit Vick.
"He's written me a couple of times,” Blank said. "I've written him back, he's stayed in touch.”
Vick's life has taken quite a nosedive from his days as a superstar quarterback. He can be comforted financially by Judge David Doty's ruling in Minneapolis in February that he can keep $16.25 million of the $20 million in bonus money the Falcons were trying to recoup. The NFL is challenging the ruling.
Even if Blank feels betrayed by Vick, whom he signed to a 10-year, $130 million contract in 2004, he still clearly has a place in his heart for him, if not on his team.
"I just try to be supportive and as understanding as I can be,” Blank said. "He talks about the process he is going through and what he has learned, the lessons of life, how he's going to come out a different person. He's sorry he has affected so many people in a negative way — the league, our club, our fans. He feels awful about that. The letters sound quite sincere to me. From a mental standpoint, he sounds good.”
What does he write to Vick?
"I told Michael I'll do whatever I can to be helpful to him personally. Nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons,” Blank said. "He's a human being and I would like to reach out and if I can be productive to him in some way, I would be happy to do that.

Vick agrees to pay Falcons, who are expected to release QB

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80f87b42&template=without-video&confirm=true

The article is about Micheal Vick prison sentence. Also they are talking about how he have to pay the Atlanta Falcons money.Even though he is under going bankruptcy.Which means he would not have money in his bank account.Vick owed them nearly $21.2 million for bonuses he received before his guilty plea to federal dogfighting charges. After an arbitrator sided with the team, the players union took the case to federal court. A U.S. district judge reduced the amount to $3.75 million, and the case remains on appeal."To resolve uncertainty over the amount of the Falcons' claim, the parties have determined that the Falcons will receive an allowed general unsecured claim in the debtor's bankruptcy case in the amount of $7.5 million," said the court filing, which was entered last week. "If the district court's ruling is ultimately affirmed on appeal, the amount of the Falcons' claim will be reduced to $6.5 million."
